Suzie IdiensSuzie Idiens is a Sydney based artist, whose work investigates formal concerns of colour, form, finish and spatial composition while addressing the subjective nature of perception. Her continued focus on simplifying form and precise use of colour results in abstract geometric objects with a minimalist aesthetic that bridge conventional notions of painting and sculpture. Idiens’s work was recently exhibited in Image_Object, Poimena Gallery, Launceston (2020); Biennale of Reductive and Non Objective Art, West Projects, Sydney (2019); Monochrome: Empty and Full, Margaret Lawrence Gallery, Melbourne (2018); Abstraction Twentyeighteen, Stephen McLaughlan Gallery, Melbourne (2018); Easy Does It, Five Walls Projects, Melbourne (2017); Visions of Utopia, Penrith Regional Gallery (2017); Visions of Utopia, Wollongong Regional Gallery (2016); and Neutral Ground, Gallery 9, Sydney (2016). In 2018 Idiens was awarded a residency at Pestana Cidadela, Cascais, Portugal. Her work is included in a number of collections throughout Australia, Europe and US, including: Artbank, Sydney; and Wollongong Regional Gallery, New South Wales.
