STACKS Projects is pleased to present a media poem by Angela Stretch, in the form of audio-visual and mixed media including photography, performance and printed artwork on paper.
The media poem unpacks how we receive language, in particular what we consider to be noise. Noise in the avant-garde is associated in two-ways: as an instantaneous awareness and the second; as an additional collapse of time, which has been titled as being a cunctation. Whether it is an inner voice or an audibly articulated one where you are going about your everyday business, engaging in the usual activities these intuitive associations between sounds, texts and images become alternate possibilities for action, but these actions may never be performed, they are often delayed, thoughts put off.
Cunctation: Latin of origin and means to delay.
